As summer hands over to autumn and warehouses begin to look ahead to the busy season, Helm has been quietly getting its house in order. This release blends a handful of new capabilities on the Mobile App, in returns and despatch, and across the Public API with a generous sweep of everyday refinements that make the whole system feel steadier underfoot.

There is nothing here you need to do to prepare. Every change is designed to fit into the workflows your teams already know, so that the day simply runs a little more smoothly than it did before.

Smoother Operations On The Mobile App

The Mobile App picks up three improvements aimed squarely at the people holding the scanner.

Goods-in on the handheld can now create a brand-new location on the spot. When stock arrives destined for a location that has not yet been set up, the operator can create it and book the received stock straight into it, all within the same flow. No more stepping out of goods-in to set things up elsewhere and coming back.

Stock counting has become a more natural rhythm. After scanning a product barcode, the Scan button stays available so operators can keep scanning individual items one after another, exactly as they already can with carton barcodes. Counting a shelf of single units is now a matter of scan, scan, scan, rather than scan and then type.

The app's interface also scales correctly on smaller and lower-resolution devices. Quantities and controls now sit comfortably within the screen, so nothing important is hidden off the edge and your team can trust what they see at a glance.

Clearer Returns & Despatch

The Returns Terminal now includes a free-text comments box during return processing. Whatever the operator types is saved against the return record and shown there afterwards, giving customer service teams the context they need about why and how a return was handled without having to chase the warehouse for the story.

On the order side, the Commercial Invoice is now available directly on the Order Despatch Details page, sitting alongside the despatch label. Teams no longer need to return to order search and hunt for the button in the results; everything needed to support an international shipment is in one place.

Sharper Reports & Exports

The Global Inventory Stock Overview report gains a toggle to include SKUs with zero stock. Until now these were left out, which made the report less useful for purchasing decisions; you can now see the full catalogue, gaps included, and plan replenishment with confidence.

The Full Orders Export now includes the Shipping Requested value from each order, in addition to the shipping service actually booked. This matters most for operations using bulk actions or manual despatch, where a shipment record may not always exist but the requested service is still recorded against the order and needs to appear in reporting.

Stock Control Made Simpler

Adjusting stock in the Picked location can now be done through the stock location CSV import as well as through the interface. When several items carry leftover picked quantities after cancelled picks, you can tidy them all up in a single import rather than working through each one by hand, while the safeguards that protect live picks remain firmly in place.

A More Capable Public API

Two additions to the Public API open up workflows that previously needed a person at a screen.

A specific batch can now be assigned to an order line at the point of order creation. Where goods are customised or otherwise tied to a particular batch, integrations can guarantee that pickers are directed to exactly the right items rather than relying on the default expiry-date prioritisation.

Supplier-to-inventory relationships are now available in bulk through a dedicated supplier links endpoint, with supplier details also surfaced on the inventory index. Systems that synchronise product and supplier data can pull the full relationship in a handful of calls instead of thousands of individual inventory lookups, making regular syncs faster and far lighter on rate limits for everyone.

General System Improvements

Alongside the headline changes, this release carries a broad set of refinements across orders, inventory, reporting and everyday navigation. Individually they are small; together they add up to a noticeably more dependable Helm.

In order management, Order Rules are now reliably checked for eligibility and applied to every qualifying order. The Sale Type filter returns every matching order when B2B or B2C is selected, including when combined with an order number search. Orders associated with a completed pick can be despatched and have their status changed without interruption, and attempting to cancel a label and reset an order that has already been picked now presents a clear, friendly warning rather than an unexpected error.

On the inventory side, sales channel link icons appear consistently for every product that is linked, editing a manual channel saves cleanly without creating a duplicate in the background, and inventory search with filters applied is fully reliable once more. Stock movement logs now record both the source and destination location on every entry, including transfers made with a scanner, so anyone reviewing a single location can see exactly where stock came from and where it went.

Reporting has been steadied too. The Stock Transaction Report generates as expected, including when both a client and a warehouse are selected, and the Courier Report and Courier Service Report complete successfully on large accounts without timing out.

Finally, a few everyday touches: the Order Logs and App Logs pages open cleanly without refreshing, client names display in full in address drop-down lists, signing in takes a single attempt rather than two, and the Public API inventory lookup now returns archived batch products correctly for fulfilment client users.
